With the release of the new consoles this generation, and services like Microsoft's XBLA and Nintendo's Virtual Console, many wondered if GoldenEye 007 would get re-released. The game received critical praise when it was released, and sat at the top of the Nintendo sales chart for months.
The game was based off of the James Bond movie of the same name, and had players playing through levels as James Bond, who was imaged after Pierce Brosnan from the movie. The game was developed by Rareware, and published by Nintendo, for the N64. GoldenEye 007 was originally released on August 25, 1997. Roasting - GoldenEye's Console Gaming History: So, from the information that we know about GoldenEye on the Wii, and past GoldenEye video games, does evidence suggest it will remain a Wii exclusive, or will it be a timed "exclusive" like many other games in history? Can GoldenEye 007 on the Wii legally be ported to the Xbox 360 and PS3? Let's take a look.
I have seen a few comments that GoldenEye on the Wii can't be ported to the other consoles, because of Nintendo holding the license to the original and also because Nintendo helped Activision with this version of GoldenEye, by providing advice and working some with Eurocom during development. Two questions that also seemed to surface quickly after GoldenEye 007 Wii's announcement was, " Why the Wii?", and whether or not it would stay a Wii exclusive. When the announcement was made, many people probably wondered like me, " Will this GoldenEye be just like the original?" But other than that theres nothing too intense in this game.GoldenEye 007 on the Wii was a huge surprise to many when Nintendo showed the debut trailer for it at E3 this year(though because of the idiocy at IGN, it was spoiled to many the day before, when they uploaded the trailer and left it public for a few hours). Substances: 1/10 Some alcoholic drinks may be seen in the club level, Nothing bad at all really.įrightening/Intense Scenes: 4/10 The combat can get intense at times, I don't recommend it for the squeamish or those who don't like gun violence in games. Profanity: 3/10 Single use of b-d and some uses of damn and hell. Theonly time when blood really appears is when you die, The iconic screen of blood from the films is shown, Nothing major in this game. Violence: 6/10 Alot of gunfights but with little to no blood But still moderately violent, Stealth is sometimes encouraged and you use some mildly graphic stealth takedowns such as snapping necks, Hitting on the shoulder area with a gun, etc. Sexual Content: 2/10 One mission takes place at a club, where there are some scantily clad women, but it's not that bad. This is an excellent game, it's gameplay is alot like COD, but not too graphic. But if they are 12+, and are begging for Call of Duty and Halo, but you're not budging, this will give them something to enjoy during the wait. Also, like in the movies, Bond shows his knowledge of his liquor, especially in a nightclub scene where just by looking at the label, he can tell a bottle is scammed. It is a little violent when you do up-close melee attacks, and if your kids have never played Call of Duty, the controls will take a lot a getting used too. With no blood really at all, if you're kids play overrated T games like Super Smash Bro's, this is only a little worse, because of the improved graphics. However, don't let that turn you off at all, because they have for once made a game that isn't as gory.
If you aren't familiar with the makers of the game, Activision, they're the guys that make Call of Duty, and some other popular FPS (First Person Shooters). If you're an adult reading this, please don't take my review lightly, as I will probably have things you will agree with. Which Side of History?
